Women's Tennis Begins Play at USTA Invite in New York

Four Tigers were in the draws at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center Women's College Invitational when play began Friday, and the Princeton foursome turned in a successful first day at the three-day event.
Three of the four, including Sivan Krems, Dorothy Tang and Caroline Joyce, won their first-round singles matches and will play in quarterfinals Saturday. All four enjoyed first-round doubles wins, though only Cannon and Krems were able to gain a berth in a doubles semifinal Saturday.
