Women's Tennis Wraps Play at USTA Invitational
October 13, 2013 | Women's Tennis
A trio from the Princeton women's tennis team competed in flight finals Sunday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center Women's College Invitational, completing their play in the event.
Sivan Krems and Caroline Joyce played in the top two singles flight finals, though both came up short. Krems rallied from losing the first set to force a tiebreaker third set with Harvard's Liang Spencer, but Spencer won the tiebreak 10-4. Nicole Chis of Fairleigh Dickinson defeated Joyce in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
Krems also played a doubles flight final against Tina Jang and Crystal Leung of Columbia alongside Joan Cannon, but the Columbia pair won the top doubles flight title, 8-4.
Complete updated draws are available here. The Tigers will only be away from competition for a few days before the USTA/ITA Invitational begins at Harvard Thursday.
