Davies Advances to Flight Final in Virginia

Dan Davies advanced to his flight's final at the Virginia Fall Classic as the event's second day whittled down the draws.
Davies defeated Virginia Tech's Florian Nicoud in three sets to set up a match against Coastal Carolina's Ted Nilsson Sunday at 9 a.m. for the flight title. Zack McCourt, Ben Quazzo and Josh Yablon will all play in consolation matches Sunday.
Doubles play wrapped Saturday with Davies and McCourt winning their way into their flight's final before Binghamton's Leo Christofides and Philippe Tsangaridis defeated them 8-5, and Ben Quazzo and Josh Yablon dropped their semifinal match before winning a third-place bout.
