Fencers' First Day of New Campaign Complete
November 23, 2013 | Men's Fencing, Women's Fencing
Princeton's first day of the 2013-14 competition season is complete, with the Tiger men taking two out of three dual matches at Columbia and the women sweeping both of theirs.
The women were 14-13 winners over Columbia and 25-2 winner over NJIT, while the men lost to Columbia 19-8 but defeated NJIT 24-3 and Stevens 21-6. Sharon Gao had the clinching bout in the 14-13 win over Columbia, though both the men's and women's matches against the Lions were non-Ivy League contests.
The two wins stretch the Princeton women's team's winning streak to 22 straight dual matches dating back to last fall.
Individual results were not made available. The Tigers will head down to Philadelphia Saturday for a meet with Penn and Ohio State.
