Four Tigers Head to Florida To Close Fall Tennis Season
November 08, 2013 | Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis
Four members of the Princeton tennis programs are in Florida this weekend to wrap the fall campaign at the Lakewood Ranch Invitational clay-court tournament in Sarasota, Fla.
Mohamed El Tonbari and Zack McCourt will make the return trip for the men's team, which sent McCourt and Dan Richardson to the event last year. Rookies Sivan Krems and Alanna Wolff will represent the women's team.
The event has a 32-person singles draw and a 16-pair doubles draw for the men and women. El Tonbari will open against the singles draw's No. 6, Virginia's Luca Corinteli, while McCourt will start against Florida Gulf Coast's Christopher Perrigan. On the women's side, Wolff will open against Memphis' Stesanie Mikesz, while Krems will play against another Memphis opponent, Alyssa Hibberd.
The women's first-round matches will start at 10 followed by the first men's matches at noon, and all players will have the chance at another singles match in the afternoon whether in the main draw or the consolation.
Friday will start and end with doubles, with men's and women's first-round matches starting at 9 a.m. and the second-round matches at 6:30 p.m. The Tiger men will start doubles against Florida Gulf Coast's Tianyu Bao and Lance Lvovsky, while the women will face the Memphis pair of Hibberd and Caroline Wegner.
Play will continue at the event through Sunday. The tournament page, with complete draws, is available here.
