PRINCETON, N.J. (12/4/13) - The Princeton indoor track & field season gets underway on Saturday, Dec. 7 when the Tigers hosts the New Year's Invitational at Jadwin Gym.
Eight schools will visit Jadwin Gym for the meet. They include: Bryn Mawr, Georgian Court, Johns Hopkins, Messiah, Morgan State, Rider, Rutgers and Towson. Athletes from various track clubs will also be competing.
The meet begins at 11 a.m., with the men's weight throw and women's long jump. The track events begin at noon with the women's 60m hurdle preliminaries. The last event of the day, the women's 4x8, is scheduled for 4 p.m.
At last year's meet, the women won four of six field events. Julia Ratcliffe '16 won her first weight throw competition en route to the NCAA Championships. Eight-time Ivy League pole vault champion Tory Worthen '13 won her event, as did Taylor Morgan '16 in the high jump. Imani Oliver '14 claimed a victory in the triple jump, an event she later earned All-America status in. On the track Kristin Smoot '14 won the mile, Melissa Zajdel '13won the 1000 and Sarah Lavin '17 claimed a win in the 60m hurdles. The men won two sprint events with Tom Hopkins '14 earning a win in the 300, while John Hill '16 his collegiate event, the 60, coming off of football season.Tuesday, June 04
