Princeton extended its win streak to five games with a 77-55 win over Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday night in Jadwin Gym in the first meeting between the two teams in program history.

Princeton scored seven of the last eight points of the first half, opening a 29-27 lead before a late foul allowed the Knights' Sidney Sanders Jr. to split from the line and make the score 36-28 at the break.

Princeton scored the first nine points of the second half and kept it going from there, gaining its largest lead of 26 points at 77-51 with less than two minutes to go in the game. The Tigers held FDU to just 29.6 percent shooting after the break, pulling away by hitting nearly half of their own tries from the floor in the second half (14-30, .467).

Denton Koon led four Tigers in double figures with 18 points, five short of his career high, while rookie Spencer Weisz chipped in 17 points, a high for his young career, and Will Barrett and Ben Hazel added 11 apiece.

29.6: Princeton held FDU to 29.6 percent shooting from the field in the second half while the Tigers scored the first nine points of the half to open a 45-28 lead. Denton Koon had four of those key nine points.

With less than three minutes to go in the first half, Ben Hazel hit a 3-pointer to give Princeton a 34-27 lead. It had been a tight game until that point, but after that Hazel basket, it was never as close as a two-possession game again.

• Princeton continued its best start since the 1997-98 season, now standing at 6-1. Princeton was 7-0 through seven games in 1997-98 and held a No. 22 national ranking by the AP.

• Following their week of sweeping Rutgers and Seton Hall for their first Division I wins of the season, the Knights have dropped back-to-back contests against Stony Brook and now Princeton.

• The Princeton game was the fourth of seven straight for FDU away from home. It was the Knights' third game in a span of four in nine days, beginning last Sunday at Seton Hall and continuing through Monday at Iowa.

• Princeton's 77 points were its most in regulation this season, topping the previous best of 71 last week against George Mason. The last time Princeton had as many points in regulation was on Dec. 22, 2012 in Jadwin against Bucknell (79).

• Freshman Spencer Weisz had 17 points and 10 rebounds, both career highs, for his first double-double. He is the fourth Tiger this season to have a double-double after Hans Brase, Denton Koon and T.J. Bray.

• Princeton's 43-28 rebounding edge was its largest against a Division I opponent since outrebounding Rider by 16 on Dec. 20, 2012.

• Princeton's 22-point margin of victory was its largest of the season and largest since the Tigers beat Columbia in Manhattan last season by 25.

• Princeton has outrebounded five of its first seven opponents.

• Princeton has scored at least 66 points in each of its first seven games for the first time since the 1971-72 season.

• Princeton's last three opponents (George Mason, Bucknell, FDU) have combined to shoot .189 (7-37) from beyond the arc. The Knights were 3-15 from distance tonight.

• FDU's Sidney Sanders Jr. has had a high-scoring couple of weeks, averaging 24.0 ppg against Seton Hall, Rutgers, Stony Brook and Princeton, scoring at least 22 points in each game.

Princeton's most-played non-conference rivalry will have its 120th installment Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. when the Tigers meet Rutgers in Piscataway. The Scarlet Knights are 4-5 heading into Sunday's game against Seton Hall.
