The 2014 dual-match season will get underway Saturday in Jadwin Gym for the Princeton women's tennis team when the Tigers host Temple for a 2 p.m. match.
Princeton leads the all-time series 16-1 and has won 11 straight, with Temple's only victory in the series coming in 1994. The teams have played annually since 2001 with only two exceptions, in 2002 and 2011.
A season ago, Princeton finished 12-7 overall and 4-3 in the Ivy, opening the campaign with a 6-1 win over Temple last Jan. 30. Temple was 10-14 overall and 3-6 in the Atlantic 10, advancing to the conference tournament quarterfinal.
Temple returns five of the six players, and the top four singles players, from its final match last season, while Princeton returns five of its six singles and doubles players, graduating Monica Chow. Lindsay Graff, who played first singles and doubles for the Tigers last season, is back for her junior season, complemented by five returners and four freshmen, led by ITA 62nd-ranked Alanna Wolff.
