Nittany Lion Invitational Up Next for Women's Golf
October 01, 2014 | Women's Golf
Following a weekend away from competition after its opening tournament, the Princeton women's golf team will head to Penn State for three rounds of play beginning Friday.
Princeton and host Penn State will share the school's Blue Course for the Nittany Lion Invitational with three other Ivy schools including Columbia, Harvard and Yale, with Akron, Bucknell, Eastern Michigan, Georgetown, Marshall, Maryland, Old Dominion and Western Michigan.
Tee times will start at 9 a.m. each day Friday through Sunday for 18 holes of play, with each team fielding six players - one more than most tournaments - and counting the top four.
This will be Princeton's eighth appearance at the Nittany Lion Invitational, following visits in the fall of 2001-04, 2007, 2008 and 2012. Princeton was the tournament champion in 2007.
At the team's fall-opening tournament at Vanderbilt two weekends ago, Princeton used a lineup of two freshmen, two sophomores and junior Alex Wong, with Wong leading the team at +7 for the three-round event.
