Radu Advances to Flight Semis on Second Day in Virginia
October 05, 2014 | Men's Tennis
Four members of the Princeton men's tennis team completed half of singles play Saturday at the University of Virginia's Fall Classic with play scheduled to wrap Sunday.
Florin Radu won his way into the Gold Singles semifinal with two wins Saturday, but Radu was the only one of the four Tigers able to go 2-0 as singles play opened. Luke Gamble, Dan Richardson and Ben Tso will all have consolation matches Sunday.
"We weren't quite as sharp today as we were yesterday," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "We dropped a few close third sets where we let our foot off the gas pedal a bit. Nonetheless, we had some positive play and it was good to see Florin (Radu) play well with two solid wins. We'll get back at it tomorrow with the mindset to finish the tournament well."
