Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Penn State Invitational

Princeton's women's golf team wrapped play Sunday at the Penn State Invitational on the university's Blue Course, finishing in fifth place of 14 schools.
The Ivy League performed well at the event, with Princeton and three other Ivies occupying the top five spots. Columbia (+30) won the tournament by a single shot over Yale (+31), with Harvard (+33) three shots off the pace and Maryland (+45) fourth. Princeton was two shots behind the Terrapins and 17 shots back of Columbia after 54 holes.
Princeton's best round of the tournament belonged to Jordan Lippetz after her even-par 72 Sunday, a round that was 11 shots better than her Saturday score and helped put the team at 300 strokes for the day, a low for the weekend. Alex Wong turned in a 3-over 75 Sunday to lead Princeton at 8-over for the weekend, finishing in a tie for ninth place overall.
Eastern Michigan's Kelsey Murphy won the individual title, carding a 68 Sunday to vault into first place and finish at +2 with a one-shot margin over Columbia's Monique Ishikawa. Murphy's round matched the previous tournament low turned in Friday. by Penn State's Ariana Coyle.
