Men's Water Polo Downs Johns Hopkins to Open CWPA Championship Play, 18-5

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The eighth-ranked Princeton University men's water polo team extended its win streak to 11 games with a decisive 18-5 victory over Johns Hopkins University in the opening rounds of the 2014 CWPA Championship hosted by the United States Naval Academy.
Scoring early and often, Princeton accounted for nine of the game's first 10 goals. Netting six unanswered to start the second period, the Tigers took a 9-2 lead into the intermission. Continuing to push forward, the Orange and Black outscored the Blue Jays 7-0 in the third to blow the game open.
Thomas Nelson paced the Princeton attack with four goals on six shots, while Jordan Colina found the back of the opposing net three times on five shots. Drew Hoffenberg chipped in with two goals and a team high three assists, while Curtis Fink, Bret Hinrichs and Eric Bowen also had a pair of tallies. Jamie Kuprenas, Kayj Shannon and Connor McGoldrick combined for the Tigers' other three scores.
Going 1-for-3 on the man advantage, Princeton outshot JHU, 35-24. Colina went 3-0 on sprints, while Vojislav Mitrovic made eight saves. Playing the final eight minutes, Alex Gow had three stops.
