Porter Named Second-Team Academic All-America

AUSTIN, Texas (11/25/14) - Senior Cameron Porter has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America® Division I soccer teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced this afternoon.
A computer science major, Porter was most recently named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year. A two-time unanimous first-team all-Ivy selection, Porter was a second-team pick as a sophomore and has also garnered academic all-Ivy honors.
The NCAA leading scorer, Porter ranks first in points with 34, points per game at 2.00, goals with 15 and goals per game at 0.88. Porter scored a goal in 12 of Princeton's 17 games this season and had the game-winning goals against Loyola, Harvard, American and Yale. He was 6-for-6 in penalty kicks and had his most impressive outing against Rutgers with a five-point game on two goals and one assist. Porter was twice named the Ivy League Player of the Week, and earned two national Player of the Week honors this season.
Porter concludes his Princeton playing career with 31 goals and 13 assists for 75 points in 67 games. He ranks fourth all-time in points, along with current assistant coach Jesse Marsch with 75, fourth in career goals and 12th in career assists.
