Women's Golf Announces Spring Slate
December 18, 2014 | Women's Golf
2014-15 Schedule
Four events are on the Princeton women's golf team's spring schedule, announced Thursday, Dec. 18 on GoPrincetonTigers.com.
Princeton will play in the Low Country Intercollegiate March 21-22, the Pirate Invitational April 2-3, the Brown Invitational April 12-13, and the Ivy League Championship April 24-26.
Princeton has played in each of the pre-Ivy tournament events within the last few years. At the Low Country Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford at Moss Creek Golf Club on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Princeton competed in the spring of 2012 and 2013, finishing runner-up in its most recent visit. At the Brown Invitational, hosted by Brown at the Metacomet Country Club in East Providence, R.I., this year, Princeton was the champion in 2011 before sending individuals to compete in 2012, with Kelly Shon '14 taking medalist honors.
The Tigers first appeared at the Pirate Invitational last year, hosted by Seton Hall at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., placing third.
The Ivy League Championship will head to Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania as it is contested outside of New Jersey or New York for the first time. Princeton played the course in the fall at the Lehigh Invitational, where the Tigers took home the team and individual titles as freshman Tenley Shield and junior Alex Wong finished atop the leaderboard before Shield won the individual championship in a playoff.
Princeton has a youthful squad, with the top five finishers at each of the team's fall four events being non-seniors. Along with Shield winning the Lehigh Invitational while competing as an individual, Wong was the top Tiger in three of the four events with sophomore Ku leading the team at the Princeton Invitational.
