Though Lipscomb led early at 8-4 and 12-10, Princeton used a 15-4 run to turn that 12-10 deficit into a 25-16 lead on the way to a 77-55 win. Princeton never led by fewer than 10 points in the second half and was up by as many as 17 points before the break. Princeton nailed 14 3-pointers (on 26 tries) in the win while holding Lipscomb to 2 of 16 from beyond the arc. Clay Wilson had five of those threes, on six tries, to pick up a career-best 19 points. |

• Monday's game is the return contest of a visit Princeton made to Liberty last season, an 9-74 Tiger win in which Princeton led by 10 points late in the first half but the Flames rallied to lead by seven at 57-50 with less than 10 minutes to go. Ben Hazel scored 10 straight points in a span of 2:30 to give Princeton a 60-57 lead, and the teams battled it out from there, with neither team lead by more than four points until the final 80 seconds.
• In the last meeting, Liberty had two players, John Caleb Sanders (25) and Tomasz Gielo (20) score at least 20 points, with the pair combining for 45 of the team's 74. Princeton also had a big scorer in T.J. Bray '14 (24 points), while Ben Hazel added 18 and Hans Brase 12. The win came despite Liberty outrebounding Princeton 29-26 and outshooting the Tigers 53.1 percent to 48.1 percent. Turnovers, however, favored Princeton, with the Flames turning the ball over 10 times to just four for Princeton.
• Liberty will be the first Big South team at the time of the game to play in Jadwin Gym. The Tigers faced Coastal Carolina in 1990, UMBC in 1993, VMI in 2006, Presbyterian in 2010 and Liberty in 2014, all on neutral courts except for last season's Liberty game. The Tigers won four of the five games, except the Presbyterian game four years ago.
• Liberty is holding opponents to just a 26.5 percent shooting clip from beyond the arc, leading the Big South and good for 13th in the nation through Friday's games. Princeton hits at a .392 clip from distance and takes 46.7 percent of its field goal tries from 3. Princeton's opponents take just 31.6 percent of their shots from 3-point range.
• The Flames rank 11th in the Big South through Friday's games in total turnovers (most) and turnovers per game (most), averaging 17.3. That's five more per game than Princeton's 12.1 rate.
• Though Liberty trails the Big South in turnovers, the Flames' Joe Retic has done his best to make up for it, leading the conference in steals and steals per game through Friday's game at 23 steals and 2.09 per game.
• Princeton ranks ninth in Division I through Friday's games in field goal attempts (278) and fourth in 3-point makes at 109. While the Tigers lead the Ivy in both of those categories, they also lead in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.13.
• No Ivy Leaguer has taken more 3-pointers than Hans Brase, with 76, and no Ivy Leaguer has played more minutes than Spencer Weisz, at 425. Weisz's total is the fifth-highest in the nation.
• Princeton's .510 shooting clip against Lipscomb was the fourth time this season Princeton has shot at least 50 percent from the field in a game.
• Princeton has hit at least 10 3-pointers five times this season and four times in the last five games.
• Lipscomb's .362 clip from the field was the lowest from a Princeton opponent this season and just the second time the Tigers have held their foes below 40 percent from the field.
• Princeton's opponents have been held to 4 of 20 (.200) from beyond the arc over the last two games (Cal and Lipscomb).
• Princeton has been outrebounded in four straight games and hasn't been outrebounded in more than four straight games since a five-game stretch in Nov.-Dec. 2010. The Tigers will look to break that skid against a Liberty team that has outrebounded its opponents by 5.1 rpg this season.
• Princeton's top five scorers are non-seniors, with sophomore Spencer Weisz, junior Hans Brase, freshman Amir Bell and sophomores Steven Cook and Pete Miller. The last time the Tigers finished the season with no seniors among the top five in scoring was 2009-10, when sophomore Douglas Davis, junior Dan Mavraides, freshman Ian Hummer, junior Kareem Maddox and sophomore Patrick Saunders were in the top five.
• The Tigers' youth movement is in full effect. Princeton has started one junior (Hans Brase), three sophomores (Pete Miller, Spencer Weisz, Steven Cook) and one freshman (Amir Bell) in each of the last eight games. Over the first four games this season, seniors averaged 48.3 minutes per game. In the last eight games, the seniors have collectively played no more than 28 minutes.
• Of Princeton's 790 points so far, 687, or 87 percent, have been scored by non-seniors. Princeton's top five scorers on per-game average are non-seniors, and four of those are freshmen or sophomores (Weisz, Cook, Miller, Bell).
• Spencer Weisz is leading the team in scoring at 13.3 ppg. The last sophomore (or younger) to end the season leading the team in scoring was in the 2009-10 season when Douglas Davis '12 averaged 12.7 ppg. Since: Kareem Maddox '11 in 2010-11, Ian Hummer '13 in 2011-12 and 2012-13, and T.J. Bray '14 in 2013-14.
• Princeton coach Mitch Henderson is presently ninth on the program's all-time wins list, but seventh place isn't far off. He's now at 62 wins, behind predecessor Sydney Johnson (66) and John Thompson III (68). Both are fellow Tiger alumni, Johnson (head coach from 2007-11) in the Class of 1997 and Thompson (head coach from 2000-04) in the Class of 1988.
• In 58 Ivy League seasons, Princeton has posted 52 winning Ivy seasons, four 7-7 finishes and just two losing records.

• Liberty is two seasons removed from a run to the NCAA Tournament that included a four-game sweep of the Big South tournament as a No. 5 seed, then going to Dayton for an opening-round game before losing to North Carolina A&T. Liberty has made the big dance three times in 1994, 2004 and 2013, each time losing its opener.
• Liberty was picked ninth in the Big South preseason coaches and media poll.
• Liberty head coach Dale Layer is in his sixth season at the school. He served as an assistant coach at Liberty and then at Marquette for one season each after spending seven season as the head coach at Colorado State.
• Against Division I programs this season, Liberty is 2-6, with its wins coming over Delaware on Nov. 17 and Furman on Dec. 1.
• Eight Flames players have started a game this season and only two, James Johnson and Joe Retic, have started all 11 games. Andrew Smith and Peter Moller have started at least nine while playing in all 11, and Tomasz Gielo has started all seven of the games in which he's played, leading the team at 12.0 ppg. Gielo has missed the last four games due to a foot injury, and the Flames are 0-2 against Division I opposition without him.
• Liberty is 4-1 this season when reaching 30 points at halftime and 1-5 when it does not. Liberty is 6-2 when scoring 60 points and 0-4 when it does not.
• David Andoh has scored 10+ points in six of the last seven games after not doing so in three of the first four games.
• Since the calendar turned to December, Theo Johnson is averaging 9.6 ppg after averaging 3.2 ppg in November. He's also had seven rebounds in each of the last two games after not grabbing more than five in any of the first nine games.
• Peter Moller is averaging 13.8 ppg over the last four contests after averaging 4.6 ppg over the first seven games.

| Mitch Henderson '98 is in his third season as Princeton's head coach. His overall record at Princeton is 62-40. Under Henderson, Princeton is 33-9 at home, 28-14 in the Ivy League, and 18-3 in the Ivy League at home. Princeton is 49-13 when leading at the half under Henderson. Henderson is the first Princeton coach since John Thompson III '88 (2000-04) to have winning seasons in each of his first three campaigns. He is the sixth Princeton coach to accomplish that, following Frederick Luehring (1912-20), Butch van Breda Kolff '44 (1962-67), Pete Carril (1967-96), Bill Carmody (1996-2000) and Thompson III '88 (2000-04). Henderson is in ninth place on the Princeton all-time wins list, with predecessor Sydney Johnson '97 in eighth with 66 wins over four seasons. Henderson was a second-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 1998, an honorable mention All-Ivy Leaguer in 1997, and was a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week in 1994-95. Henderson graduated as the fourth-leading assist man in program history (kept since 1974-75) and is now sixth, having been surpassed by two of his players, Ian Hummer '13 and T.J. Bray '14. Henderson graduated fifth in career steals (kept since 1974-75) and is now ninth, having been passed by former teammate Gabe Lewullis '99, current San Diego Padre Will Venable '05, Marcus Schroeder '10 and his former player T.J. Bray '14. Henderson is one of six Princeton alumni who are current Division I head coaches, including John Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Joe Scott '87 (Denver), Mike Brennan '94 (American), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond) and Sydney Johnson '97 (Fairfield). Prior to Princeton, Henderson coached at Northwestern for 11 seasons under his final head coach at Princeton, Bill Carmody, from 2000-11. |
