Men's Basketball Falls at Yale Despite Four Double Figure Scorers

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Princeton University men's basketball team fell to Yale at the John J. Lee Amphitheater Saturday afternoon in the Tigers' final game of 2025-26, 78-53.
Four Tigers scored in double figures, with three scoring 11 points. Freshman Landon Clark scored 11 on 4-for-8 shooting from the field and 3-for-6 from three while also adding three rebounds. Sophomore Malik Abdullahi added 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting while grabbing a team-high six rebounds, and junior Dalen Davis also finished with 11 points. Junior Jackson Hicke was Princeton's fourth double figure scorer, recording 10 points, five rebounds and two assists.
Yale opened the game with a 9-0 run, but Abdullahi got the Tigers on the scoreboard with a layup with 15:28 on the clock. A Hicke three-pointer followed by an Abdullahi layup made it a 21-16 contest at 10:10, but the Bulldogs went on an 8-0 run and jumped ahead 29-16 with 8:56 left in the half.
The Tigers showed resilience; junior Jacob Huggins found Abdullahi for an alleyoop with 8:43 remaining in the half that ignited a 12-0 run and made it a one-point-game with 2:11 remaining in the half, 29-28. Davis buried a pull-up jumper with 0:06 on the clock and Princeton went into halftime down two, 32-30.
Yale opened the second half with an 11-3 run. A three-pointer by Huggins with 16:02 left to play made it 44-36, but the Bulldogs used a 7-0 run and took a 53-37 advantage with 11:43 remaining.
From there, the Bulldogs pulled away and went on to earn the 78-53 triumph.
The Tigers will not play the at the Ivy League Tournament for the first time since 2018 and for just the second time in its existence.
