December 09, 2014 | Women's Squash
Playing a two-shift format, Princeton raced out to a big lead with four 3-0 wins in the opening shift. Senior captain Alex Lunt was pushed in a pair of games, including a 13-11 marathon to end it, but she was able to knock off Eunice Tan at No. 4. Fellow senior Hallie Dewey had the quickest match of the early round, dropping only 12 points during her win at No. 6.
Junior Rachel Leizman had the most dominant match of the day, losing only seven points on her way to a 3-0 win at the No. 5 position.
The match of the night came on the main court, where Princeton freshman Olivia Fiechter took on Anna Porras, who ended last season ranked 15th in the nation. Fiechter dropped 11-9 games in the opener and the third game, but she rallied back after both to force a fifth. Fiechter clinched the sweep with an 11-6 win in the final game.
