One Round Into Ivy League Championship, Women's Golf Stands Second
April 25, 2014 | Women's Golf
With 36 holes to play at the Ivy League Championship over the weekend, the Princeton women's golf team is in second place, just eight shots off the pace set by Harvard at Baltusrol Golf Club's Upper Course.
Both teams placed their scoring foursomes in the top 13 after Friday's 18 holes, with Harvard's Anne Cheng atop the individual leaderboard with a 2-under 70. Cheng is one shot ahead of Yale's Elisabeth Bernabe with a four-shot gap between Bernabe and a four-player group at 3-over that includes Princeton's Kelly Shon and Jordan Lippetz.
Harvard and Princeton were in that order when the 2013 Ivy League Championship ended a year ago, and other teams will have to make a jump to get into the top two. Yale is in third place, seven shots back of Princeton, and Columbia is in fourth place, four shots back of Yale. Penn, Dartmouth and Brown round out the standings.
