PRINCETON, N.J. (9/11/14) - The Princeton men's soccer team looks to extend its series win streak and grab its first win of 2014 when it takes on Seton Hall on Sunday, Sept. 14. The game is at 1 p.m., at Carroll Field in South Orange, N.J.
Princeton holds a one-game lead in the series with Seton Hall, 12-11-5, thanks to a 1-0 win last year. The Tigers have won the last six meetings with the Pirates. Last year, Bryan Windsor net the game-winnning goal, his first career goal, in what was the team's home opener at Roberts Stadium. Goalie Seth MacMillan '14 made four saves in the shutout.
The Tigers head to South Orange in seek of their first victory after an 0-1-1 record during opening week. Princeton played to a scoreless draw with St. John's on Wednesday night, following a 3-2 double overtime loss to Fairleigh Dickinson in the season opener a week ago Friday. Senior Cameron Porter and junior Andrew Doar have scored the teams' goals with junior Thomas Sanner and senior Myles McGinley earning assists. Junior Ben Hummel has played both games in goal and has a 1.27 goals against average and a .786 save percentage.
Seton Hall is 1-1-1 on the season and most recently lost a 3-2 game at No. 21 Delaware on Wednesday night. The Pirates held a 2-1 lead with 20 minutes to play before the Blue Hens struck twice in 38 seconds to take the lead. The team opened the season on Aug. 29 with 1-1 tie at Rhode Island before a 2-0 win over UMass Lowell on Aug. 31. Victor Manosalvas leads the team offensively with two goals and one assist. Kai Greene has scored twice and Bolu Akinyode has one goal. Samuel Geiler and Mateusz Brela have a single point each with an assist. Julian Spindler has played all 290 minutes in goal and has a 1.24 GAA and a .750 save percentage.
