After opening its season last weekend in the home Farnsworth Ivy Plus tournament, the men's team will head south and more south as the fall season continues with tournaments running Friday through Sunday.
Closer to home, Mohamed El Tonbari, Luke Gamble, Michael Katz, Ben Quazzo, Florin Radu, Dan Richardson, Ben Tso and Diego Vives will represent Princeton at the Penn Invitational, an event with eight singles flights and four doubles flights.
Binghamton, Buffalo, Columbia, Cornell, Drexel, Georgetown, Lehigh, Minnesota, Monmouth, Penn State, St. John's, Temple and Yale will join Penn and Princeton in sending players to the event. The Penn Invitational will also employ a scoring system to determine a team champion, with more points awarded for wins in higher-seeded brackets.
While eight Tigers will battle on behalf of the Orange and Black in Philadelphia, four more will be in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the Crimson Tide Four in the Fall event. Tom Colautti, Alex Day, Kial Kaiser and Josh Yablon will play in the tournament, which will feature players from Dartmouth, Florida State, Illinois, Middle Tennessee State, Notre Dame, Rice, Samford, South Alabama, Tulane and UAB joining those from Princeton and Alabama.
Princeton's top-ranked player, national No. 71 Zack McCourt, will be off from competition this weekend as he prepares for the ITA All-America Championship to begin Sept. 29 in Oklahoma
Alabama's event will feature three 16-player singles draws and four doubles draws with eight pairs apiece. Each player will play at least seven matches, and play will begin at 10 a.m. ET each day.
