Peterkin Claims Third Ivy Player Of The Week Honor After Sweep Of Penn

ALL-ACCESS: PRINCETON WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Junior Kendall Peterkin, who currently ranks 12th nationally with more than 5.1 points per set, picked up her third Ivy League Player of the Week honor after guiding the women's volleyball team to an ideal start to the league season last Friday.
Peterkin shared the weekly honor with Yale's Mollie Rogers, but she is the only player in the Ivy League to be named Player of the Week multiple times this season. Peterkin, a former first-team All-Ivy selection, had earned the honor twice in her career before this season, but she has won it three times in the first five weeks.
Her third honor came after a stellar — and versatile — effort in Princeton's 25-15, 25-16, 25-14 victory over Penn at the Palestra last weekend. She led all players in both kills (14) and digs (11), blocks (8) and service aces (5) in the sweep of the Quakers. The performance moved her into the Top 25 nationally in both points (12th, 5.14) and kills (23rd, 4.32) per set. She also ranks in the 60 in aces per set with .41.
Peterkin leads the Ivy League in kills, points and aces this season, and she has the fifth-most digs in the league.
While head coach Sabrina King has been thrilled by Peterkin's play, she thought Friday's victory was a testament to the full team.
"Kendall continued her great junior season, and she was a true leader on the court, but we had great performances throughout the lineup," King said. "Nicole Kincade could have been a candidate for Player of the Week honors, and Lauren Miller continues to run an efficient offense. Cara, Kelly and Brittany had big kills for us, and Sarah Daschbach has been great in the back row all season."
Princeton will try to stay perfect in the Ivy League this weekend when it hosts Columbia (Friday, 7) and Cornell (Saturday, 5); they are the first two home matches for Princeton this season.
