In a rematch of last season's CWPA Eastern Championship, Princeton saw seven different players record a goal in a decisive 10-5 victory over St. Francis. Freshmen Jordan Colina and Vojislav Mitrovic were stellar in their collegiate debuts, leading the Tigers with three goals and 15 saves, respectively.
Jumping out to an early lead, Princeton closed out the first period with a two-goal margin. Capitalizing on a pair of man-advantages and a score on a counterattack, the Tigers stretched their lead to 5-0 at the intermission. Recording four saves in the first, Mitrovic made his presence felt during a busy second frame, notching six more stops, including two saves while the Terriers were on a 6 vs. 5 advantage.
Finally getting a couple shots past the Princeton netminder in the third, St. Francis entered the final period down 6-2. The Orange and Black responded by outscoring the visitors 4-3 down the stretch en route to a 10-5 triumph.
Colina had two steals to go along with his team high three goals. Senior co-captain Kayj Shannon posted two goals, two steals and a block, while Thomas Nelson had a goal, two assists and two blocks. Jamie Kuprenas and Curtis Fink each had a goal and an assist, with Fink also collecting two steals. Drew Hoffenberg and Jovan Jeremic accounted for Princeton's two other scores.
