Women's Track & Field Bests St. John's, Saint Joseph's at Tri-Meet

PRINCETON, N.J. – With its student-athletes winning eight of 17 events, the Princeton University women's track and field team bested St. John's and Saint Joseph's in a Tri-Meet at Jadwin Gymnasium.
Notching 145 points, the Tigers edged out St. John's (114) for the top team honor. Saint Joseph's finished third overall with 65 points.
Setting a personal best and Princeton record at the team's first indoor meet, Julia Ratcliffe once again stood at the top of the podium in the weight throw, unleashing a toss of 19.36m (63-06.25) to claim seven points for the Tigers. Following suit, teammate Kennedy O'Dell took first in the meet's second event, the shot put, with a mark of 13.10m (42-11.75).
Finishing 1-2 in the pole vault, Princeton's Allison Harris and Brittany Henderson cleared 3.40m (11-01.75) and 3.10m (10-02.00), respectively. After Sara Ronde placed second in the long jump (5.61m (18-05.00), the Tigers' Taylor Morgan won the high jump with a leap of 1.70m (5-07.00).
Dominating the mile run, Princeton posted the top four times. Megan Curham paced the field with a time of 4:52.43, while teammate Kathryn Fluehr clocked in at 4:53.00. The Tigers' Katie Hanss (4:53.05) and Ally Markovich (4:56.64) posted the events' next two fastest times, despite their finishes not counting towards the team total.
Kim Mackay captured the win in the 800m with a time of 2:12.15, with Madison Offstein placing third (2.18.77). In the 200m dash, Jasmine Blocker recorded another victory for Princeton (25.67), while Joanna Anyanwu (25.91) came in third.
The Tigers' Zoe Sims (2:53.81) and Cecilia Barowski (2:54.06) claimed the top two spots in the 1000m run, while Lizzie Bird, Rachel Skokowski, and Gina Talt were fourth through sixth.
Kathryn Little (9:49.85), Lindsay Eysenbach (9:51.80), and Rachael Chacko (10:04.87) were Princeton's top finishers in the 3000m run, placing second, third and fourth, respectively. Blocker, Ashley Forte, Mackay and Barowski came in second in the evening's final event, the 4x400m relay, with a time of 3:53.86.
Princeton returns to action on Jan. 24 for the Tiger Open.
