Princeton needed a comeback in its Ivy League opener on Jan. 10, trailing Penn by 15 points with 13-plus minutes to go in the game. Down 58-43, Princeton went on a 12-3 run to cut the deficit to five just past the midway point of the second half. The Tigers caught Penn with less than six minutes to go and went 9 for 11 from the free-throw line from that point on to seal the four-point win. Penn cooled from a 62.1 percent shooting clip from the field in the first half to 40 percent after the break, while Princeton stayed steady at 47.6 percent in each half. Henry Caruso led Princeton with a career-best 23 points, going 14 of 16 from the line. |

• Mitch Henderson would tie former teammate and Princeton predecessor Sydney Johnson '97 with a win against Rowan, which would put Henderson at 66 wins and in a tie for eighth in Princeton men's basketball coaching history. John Thompson III '88 is seventh at 68 wins.
• Beginning in 1986, Princeton has had a non-Division I opponent at the end of finals break and before the return to Ivy League play in 26 of the last 29 seasons. The Tigers are 26-0 in those games and have won 25 by double digits, with the lone exception being a 59-50 win over TCNJ in 1998.
• Nineteen different teams have been Princeton's opponent in the post-finals non-Division I game. Rowan will be the 20th. Only four schools (Franklin & Marshall, Washington & Jefferson, Haverford, TCNJ) have been repeat opponents, with F&M visiting three times and TCNJ five.
• Rowan will be only the third New Jersey opponent in the post-finals, non-Division I game, joining TCNJ (1998, 2001, 2011-13) and Kean (2014).
• The years since 1986 in which Princeton did not face a non-Division I opponent right after the finals break were 2006 (faced Carnegie Mellon pre-finals and Davidson post-finals), 2007 (faced Seton Hall post-finals) and 2012 (faced TCNJ pre-finals and Penn post-finals).
• The change in year has been a positive change for the Tigers during Mitch Henderson's tenure. In the pre-New Year portion of Henderson's four seasons, the Tigers have a record of 27-25 for a .519 winning percentage. From New Year's Day forward, the Tigers under Henderson are 38-16 with a .704 winning percentage.
• Princeton leads the Ivy in 3-point field goal percentage at .378, in turnover margin at +0.88, in offensive rebounding percentage at .724, and in 3s per game at 8.9. Rowan leads the NJAC in points per game (76.6), scoring margin (+10.2), field goal percentage (.479), rebounding margin (+7.8) and offensive rebounding percentage (.406). Kris O'Connor led the NJAC in assists at 4.2 apg.
• Princeton will have a height advantage, based on its usual starting lineup. Princeton has two starters (6-8 Hans Brase and 6-10 Pete Miller) taller than Rowan's tallest starters, 6-7 Mike Simpson and Dan Brogan.
• Princeton's starting lineup the last 12 games has included one junior (Hans Brase), three sophomores (Pete Miller, Spencer Weisz, Steven Cook) and one freshman (Amir Bell). Rowan has given starts to eight players, though four have started at least 14 games and one, Kris O'Connor, has started all 17. Of the five Profs who have the most starts, one is a senior (Mike Simpson), three are juniors (Ike Robinson, Dan Brogan, O'Connor), and one is a sophomore (Joey Montalvo).
• Princeton is 7-4 when scoring 28 points by halftime and 0-5 when it does not. The Tigers are 5-1 when scoring at least 69 points and 2-8 when they do not. The Tigers are 6-3 when holding opponents below 67 points but 1-6 when foes reach 67, with Penn the one win for Princeton when the opponent reached 67.
• Princeton is 7-3 when holding opponents below 41 percent from 3-point range and 0-6 when opponents make at least 41 percent of their 3-point tries.
• The Tigers are 6-1 when getting at least 13 turnovers from opponents and 1-9 when opponents turn the ball over fewer than 13 times.
• Princeton has made at least 10 3-pointers in five of the last nine games after doing so in only one of the first seven games.
• Through Friday's games, Princeton ranked 20th in Division I in 3s per game (8.9). Its next-highest ranking was 25th in fewest turnovers (195), followed by 50th in 3FG percentage (.378), 61st in fewest fouls (303), 65th in total 3s made (142), 79th in free throw percentage (.716) and 97th in 3s attempted (376) among categories in which Princeton is in the national top 100. Individually, Princeton has Hans Brase (defensive rebounds per game, 28th, 6.44; rebounds per game, 79th, 7.8 minutes per game, 89th, 34.6) and Spencer Weisz (free throw percentage, 62nd, .844; minutes per game, 79th, 34.8) among players ranked in the national top 100.
• Princeton has been outrebounded in eight straight games, its longest stretch since an eight-game string in Nov./Dec. 2007. The Tigers will look to break that skid against a Rowan team that has outrebounded its opponents by 7.1 rpg this season.
• Five of Princeton's top six scorers are non-seniors, with sophomore Spencer Weisz, junior Hans Brase, freshman Amir Bell and sophomores Steven Cook and Pete Miller in the top six along with senior Clay Wilson, who is ahead of Miller 6.6 ppg to 6.0. The last time the Tigers finished the season with no seniors among the top five in scoring was 2009-10, when sophomore Douglas Davis, junior Dan Mavraides, freshman Ian Hummer, junior Kareem Maddox and sophomore Patrick Saunders were in the top five.
• With no seniors in the starting lineup over the last 12 games, seniors have collectively played no more than 36 minutes in a contest during that stretch.
• Of Princeton's 1,070 points so far, 933, or 87 percent, have been scored by non-seniors. Princeton's top four scorers on per-game average are non-seniors, and three of those are freshmen or sophomores (Weisz, Cook, Bell).
• Spencer Weisz is leading the team in scoring at 13.4 ppg, 21 points in front of junior Hans Brase. The last sophomore (or younger) to end the season leading the team in scoring was in the 2009-10 season when Douglas Davis '12 averaged 12.7 ppg. Since: Kareem Maddox '11 in 2010-11, Ian Hummer '13 in 2011-12 and 2012-13, and T.J. Bray '14 in 2013-14.
• In 58 Ivy League seasons, Princeton has posted 52 winning Ivy seasons, four 7-7 finishes and just two losing records.

• Rowan started the season at 12-1 but has lost the last four games heading into Sunday's visit to Jadwin Gym.
• This will be Rowan's first game against a Division I opponent since it was still called Glassboro State, on Dec. 29, 1987 against Delaware. The school became Rowan College of New Jersey in 1992 and then Rowan University in 1997.
• Rowan head coach Joe Cassidy has led the program since 1996, taking over for John Giannini, who is now the head coach at La Salle after spending eight years at Maine.
• Through games of Jan. 22, Rowan ranked in the national top 100 in 15 statistical categories. Its top ranking was 22nd in field goal percentage, then at .488, followed closely by its No. 24 ranking in total blocks (73), 29th in field goal percentage defense (.386), 31st in blocks per game (4.6), 32nd in rebound margin (+7.1 rpg) and 35th in scoring margin (+11.0 ppg).

| Mitch Henderson '98 is in his fourth season as Princeton's head coach. His overall record at Princeton is 65-41. Under Henderson, Princeton is 36-9 at home, 29-14 in the Ivy League, and 19-3 in the Ivy League at home. Princeton is 51-13 when leading at the half under Henderson. Henderson is the first Princeton coach since John Thompson III '88 (2000-04) to have winning seasons in each of his first three campaigns. He is the sixth Princeton coach to accomplish that, following Frederick Luehring (1912-20), Butch van Breda Kolff '44 (1962-67), Pete Carril (1967-96), Bill Carmody (1996-2000) and Thompson III '88 (2000-04). Henderson is in ninth place on the Princeton all-time wins list, with predecessor Sydney Johnson '97 in eighth with 66 wins over four seasons. Henderson was a second-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 1998, an honorable mention All-Ivy Leaguer in 1997, and was a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week in 1994-95. Henderson graduated as the fourth-leading assist man in program history (kept since 1974-75) and is now sixth, having been surpassed by two of his players, Ian Hummer '13 and T.J. Bray '14. Henderson graduated fifth in career steals (kept since 1974-75) and is now ninth, having been passed by former teammate Gabe Lewullis '99, current San Diego Padre Will Venable '05, Marcus Schroeder '10 and his former player T.J. Bray '14. Henderson is one of six Princeton alumni who are current Division I head coaches, including John Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Joe Scott '87 (Denver), Mike Brennan '94 (American), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond) and Sydney Johnson '97 (Fairfield). Prior to Princeton, Henderson coached at Northwestern for 11 seasons under his final head coach at Princeton, Bill Carmody, from 2000-11. |
