Pair of Ranked Foes Await Women's Tennis in California

A week after opening their season at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend at Alabama, the Princeton women's tennis team will head to California for a pair of matches, Thursday at Stanford and Saturday at Saint Mary's.
Princeton dropped a pair of 4-3 matches to fellow ranked opponents in Alabama, to Virginia Tech and Syracuse, and the schedule stays tough this week with Stanford checking in at No. 8 and Saint Mary's at No. 44.
It'll be the third time in seven years and the second year in a row that Princeton and Stanford, the alma mater of head coach Laura Granville, have met, with each of those meetings coming at Stanford. The Cardinal have prevailed each time, including last year's sweep after a 6-1 win in 2009. The Cardinal will open their dual-match season with the Tigers.
Saint Mary's also competed in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, making the short trip to Berkeley to defeat Fresno State before falling to Cal.
