No. 8 Stanford Tops Women's Tennis

In the first of two matches this week in California, 54th-ranked Princeton fell 6-1 at No. 8 Stanford as the Cardinal won the doubles point and the top five singles contests.
Though Stanford won the doubles point, Princeton's top doubles team of senior Lindsay Graff and freshman Katrine Steffensen battled the No. 6 doubles team in the country, Taylor Davidson and Carol Zhao, to a tiebreak that was tied at 6-6 before the match was called as Stanford had clinched the doubles point.
The Cardinal's strength showed as the top three singles courts, which clinched the victory for Stanford, yielded just five games.
Princeton's point came in the final match of the afternoon when junior Emily Hahn outlasted Lindsey Kostas in three sets on court six.
Princeton will head across the San Francisco Bay to Saint Mary's for a 5 p.m. ET match Saturday to wrap up the trip.
