Women's Golf Set to Defend Title at Lehigh Invitational
October 16, 2015 | Women's Golf
Sunday and Monday will bring the Princeton women's golf team to the Lehigh Invitational, where the Tigers will aim to defend their win there last fall.
Along with Princeton and host Lehigh, Saint Francis (Pa.), Towson, Monmouth, Hartford, Holy Cross, Navy and Niagara. The Tigers will begin teeing off at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, and tee times based on standings will also begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Princeton placed six golfers in the top 10 at last year's tournament, a group that included Tenley Shield, who was playing as an individual and defeated teammate Alex Wong in a playoff after both finished at +6. The Tigers won the team title by 24 shots over host Lehigh.
The tournament, which is held at the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa., will put Princeton on that course for the third time in a year, including the 2015 Ivy League Championship. Princeton finished fourth in that tournament, but by just 13 shots after three rounds of play.
Princeton will wrap its fall season with the Lehigh Invitational, which has seen Princeton take second at the Bucknell Invitational and the Princeton Invitational before posting a three-round 894 in a fifth-place finish at last weekend's Yale Invitational, Princeton's best three-round team score in program history.
