USTA/ITA Regionals to Begin Thursday for Men's Tennis

Eight Tigers are headed to Yale for the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional to begin Thursday.
Jimmy Wasserman and Jonathan Carcione will begin in Thursday's qualifying singles round, in which 48 players will each try to win two matches to claim one of the 16 spots in the main draw, beginning at 8 a.m.
Friday will see main-draw doubles and main-draw singles, beginning with doubles play at 8 a.m. Tom Colautti and Diego Vives, Luke Gamble and Alex Day, and Kial Kaiser and Josh Yablon will start on the trail of looking to win six matches to claim the doubles title.
In main-draw singles play, Kaiser, Day, Vives, Gamble, Colautti and Yablon, and Wasserman and Carcione if they qualify through the earlier draw, will look to win six to seven matches to claim the singles title. Day, Vives, Colautti and Yablon have first-round byes and will begin singles play Saturday, with Colautti earning a top-four seed to be the highest-seeded Tiger.
Friday's schedule will include one round of doubles and one round of singles. Saturday, which begins at 8 a.m., will see the second and third rounds of main-draw singles, one round of consolation singles, and the second round of doubles.
Sunday's play will begin at 9 a.m. with the third round and quarterfinals in doubles, followed by fourth-round singles play. Monday, also beginning at 9 a.m., will feature semifinals in doubles and quarterfinals and semifinals in singles.
The event will wrap Tuesday with singles and doubles finals, starting with doubles at 9 a.m.
At last year's event at the USTA National Tennis Center, Princeton advanced Colautti to the Round of 16 in singles play and Zack McCourt and Alex Day to the Round of 16 in doubles.
