Muliawan Ends Run at ITA All-America
October 07, 2015 | Women's Tennis
Belinda Woolcock of Florida defeated Princeton senior Amanda Muliawan 6-2, 6-0 Wednesday at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, keeping Muliawan from the third win she needed to advance to the main draw at the Riviera/ITA All-America Championships.
Muliawan, who was unranked in the ITA's preseason top 125, knocked off two top-50 opponents Tuesday to advance to Wednesday's match. The wins over No. 36 Madison Westby of USC and No. 50 Rutuja Bhosale of Texas A&M were the two highest-ranked players Muliawan has defeated at Princeton. Woolcock was ranked 32nd.
Three Tigers - Amber Park, Caroline Joyce and Sara Goodwin - will represent Princeton at the team's next event, the Navy Blue & Gold Invitational, Friday through Sunday.
