PRINCETON, N.J. (11/10/15) - Princeton will honor its nine-member senior class on Saturday afternoon when the Tigers hosts Yale in the regular-season finale. Game time is now at 3 p.m.
Taking to Myslik Field for the final time will be, as pictured above, Nico Hurtado, John Kendall, Ben Hummel, Thomas Sanner, Josh Miller, Jack Hilger, Andrew Doar, Bing Lin and Brendan McSherry.
Princeton enters the regular-season finale on a two-game win streak. The Tigers are 9-5-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the Ivy League, to sit fifth in the standings. Sanner has a league best 28 points on a league-high 12 goals and four assists. He ranks sixth nationally in points per game and eighth nationally in goals per game. McSherry ranks second in second in the league in both points, 17, and goals, six. Sophomore Daniel Bowkett, Hurtado and Miller have 10 points apiece - with each scoring three goals with four helpers. Junior Josh Haberman has started the last two games and won both via shutout. He has saved all eight shots he's faced in 286 minutes. Hummel is 7-5-2 and has a .681 save percentage and a 1.63 goals against average.
Yale holds a five-game lead in the more than 100-year series, at 43-39-22. Princeton has won the last three meetings with Yale, including a 1-0 game last year in New Haven, that clinched the Ivy League co-championship for the Tigers.
Yale is 1-13-2 overall and 0-4-2 in the Ivy League. The Bulldogs' solitary win was over Quinnipiac on Sept. 19. A young squad is evident with its top three scorers being freshmen. Nicky Downs and Kyle Kenagy have six games apieces, with Kenagy picking up a team-best three goals. Defender Cameron Riach has two goals and one assist. Sophomore Ollie Iselin has scored twice, and along with Kenagy, take the most shots on the team. Both junior Ryan Simpson and freshman Kees Schipper have each spent time in goal. Simpson has started in nine games and has a 1.56 GAA and a .681 save percentage. In seven games, Schipper has a 2.54 GAA and a .633 save percentage.
