No. 11 Princeton Men's Water Polo Heads to MIT for 2015 CWPA Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. – The 11th-ranked Princeton University men's water polo team returns to action this weekend at the 2015 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championships hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Princeton will open tournament play on Friday, Nov. 20 against the winner of Bucknell and George Washington. Game time is set for 6 p.m. All 20 of this weekend's championship games will be streamed by the CWPA and can be accessed through the organization's multimedia page.
Entering into a partnership with Stretch Internet, the CWPA is offering the streaming to the league's fans at a cost of $10 per game or $25 for a weekend pass that allows viewers to watch every game.

WEEK THAT WAS
• Coming off a bye week, Princeton last competed at the CWPA Southern Championship on Nov. 6-8 at Bucknell University to extend its win streak to nine games.
• Capturing their ninth Southern crown, the Tigers (19-4, 8-0 CWPA Southern) upended Gannon (W, 20-5) and Navy (W, 14-6) in the opening rounds before edging out Johns Hopkins in the title game, 16-12.
• Eric Bowen led the way against Gannon with four goals, while Jordan Colina and Ryan Wilson each had three scores. Michael Swart chipped in with four assists while Bret Hinrichs had three helpers.
• Against Navy, Jovan Jeremic netted four goals, while Wilson had three goals and two assists. Colina added three scores while Vojislav Mitrovic made 14 saves.
• Mitrovic paved the way for the Tigers' victory against Johns Hopkins, matching a program record with 20 saves. Thomas Nelson had four goals to lead the Princeton offense, while Swart and Colina each had two goals and three assists.
LEADING THE WAY
• Vojislav Mitrovic was named the CWPA Southern Defensive Player of the Week following the Southern Championships, while Ryan Wilson picked up Rookie of the Week accolades.
• Earning his fourth Southern DPOTW honor, Mitrovic racked up 37 saves in three tournament games.
• His 20-save effort in the finale against JHU tied a single-game program record.
• Logging 585:27 minutes in net this season, Mitrovic has posted a 17-4 overall record with a 0.593 save percentage.
• Already with 245 saves, Mitrovic has an opportunity to eclipse his total of 253 stops during his rookie year, which already sits second on the teams single-season charts.
• Gregory Stoll currently holds the program record for saves in a single season with 266 in 1997.
• Wilson garnered Rookie of the Week laurels after tallying seven goals and six assists in the Tigers' three Southern Championship games.
• Opening the tournament with a three goals, two assists, and three steals against Gannon, Wilson had three goals, two helpers, and a pair of steals against Navy.
• In the finale versus Johns Hopkins, Wilson found the back of the opposing net on his lone shot and also collected two assists and a steal.
• Wilson currently ranks third on the team in goals (45) while dishing out a team-high 34 assists.
• Wilson is also second on the Tigers in steals (39) and is tied for the team lead in blocks (10).
BALANCING ACT
• Eight different Tigers have recorded double-digit goals and assists this season.
• Thomas Nelson leads the team with 60 goals and 18 assists, with his goal total ranking 11th on the school's single-season charts.
• Nelson's 187 career goals currently rank sixth in the program's record book.
• Jordan Colina is second on the team in goals (46) while also dishing out 24 assists.
• Leading the team in helpers (34), Wilson has 45 goals on the season.
• Jovan Jeremic is among the team's leaders in both categories with 30 goals and 20 assists, while Michael Swart has 28 goals and 30 helpers.
• Matt Payne has 26 goals and 10 assists, while Jamie Kuprenas has scored 11 goals to go along with his 24 assists.
• Eric Bowen is one of seven Tigers with at least 20 goals.
• Colina has nabbed a team-high 42 steals, while Wilson ranks second with 39.
• Swart, Wilson, Wachtell and Nelson each have a squad-best 10 blocks.
CWPA CHAMPIONSHIP
• Princeton will be looking for their fourth CWPA title this weekend.
• The Tigers have claimed three CWPA crowns en route to NCAA Tournament appearances in 2004, 2009, and 2011.
• Princeton has advanced to the CWPA final in three of their last four trips.
• In 2011, Princeton defeated Navy in the title game (W, 10-7) to advance to their fourth NCAA Tournament.
• After placing third the following season, the Tigers returned to the CWPA final in 2013, falling to St. Francis, 11-9.
• The Tigers dropped last year's CWPA championship game to Brown in similarly heart-breaking fashion, 7-6.
