Sanner Invited to 2016 MLS Combine

NEW YORK (12/11/15) - Princeton senior forward Thomas Sanner has been invited to the 2016 adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine it was announced by the MLS today.
Sanner is one of 59 NCAA Division I players invited to participate in the event on Jan. 7-12, 2016 in Fort Lauderdale, in which all 20 MLS clubs will have representatives. All invite players are also eligible for selection in the 2016 SuperDraft presented by adidas which will take place on Thursday, Jan. 14 in Baltimore, Md.
A committee of MLS coaches and NCAA Division I coaches from every conference selected the invitees, all of whom completed their college eligibility this season.
A first-team all-region selection, Sannner was the unanimous selection for Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year this season. The 2012 Ivy League Rookie of Year earned three All-Ivy League honors, including two on the first team. This season, Sanner led the Ivy League in both points, with 31, and goals with 13 - scoring six more goals than another player in the league. Sanner ranks fourth in the NCAA in points per game (1.82), fourth in goals per game (0.76) and was 10th nationally in shots per game (4.06). Five of Sanner's 13 goals were game-winning goals as he helped the Tigers to a 10-5-2 record.
Sanner finishes his Princeton career with 32 goals, 13 of which were game-winning goals, and 15 assists for 79 points in 64 games. He ranks third in scoring all-time at Princeton, ahead of former assistant coach and MLS Head Coach of the Year Jesse Marsch '96 and current Montreal Impact player Cameron Porter '15 who finished with 75 points apiece. He is fourth all-time in goals and tied for fifth in assists.
Porter was invited to the Combine last January and signed a contract with Montreal shortly thereafter.
