Dec. 3 TigerCast: Thomas Nelson & Chris Ayres
December 03, 2015 | General, Men's Water Polo, Wrestling
One team will compete in the NCAA Championships, while another is looking to build off a strong run at the previous NCAA Championships. Senior water polo standout Thomas Nelson and wrestling hed coach Chris Ayres join this week's edition of TigerCast prior to big upcoming weekends on opposite coasts.
Nelson scored four goals for Princeton two weeks ago to lead the Tigers to the 2015 CWPA championship, and he'll lead the Tigers into this weekend's NCAA Championships, which begins with a quarterfinal matchup Thursday night against UC-San Diego. Nelson talks about the journey to this weekend, including two tough CWPA finals losses, and the excitement of returning to NCAAs.
Ayres is in his 10th season as the head coach of Princeton wrestling, which broke into the national Top 25 last weekend. Princeton returned five qualifiers from NCAAs last season, and got strong performances from two other starters during the Grapple at the Garden weekend. He discusses the start of the season and looks ahead to home matches against both Northwestern and Lehigh.
