Trio of Matches Friday and Saturday for Men's Tennis in Jadwin Gym

Princeton's men's tennis team had a triumphant beginning to the dual-match season last weekend in Colorado and will return home for a trio of matches this weekend in Jadwin Gym.
The Tigers will start the jam-packed weekend Friday at 3 p.m. against William & Mary before a doubleheader Saturday against Bucknell beginning at 9 a.m. and Furman at 1 p.m.
Saturday's Furman match will be part of the USTA's Campus Kids Day event, featuring free pizza and drinks, an autograph signing and prizes, and a clinic from Princeton players following the match for kids in eighth grade or younger. A flyer for the event is available at the PDF link on this page.
"We¹re excited to be back on campus this week and hosting our home opener this weekend," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "We learned a bit about ourselves in Colorado and it will be nice to address a few areas at practice before playing again on Friday. William and Mary has had several dual matches against top flight competition already so they¹ll be battle tested. We are working on being sharper in particular areas and I hope to see that on Friday. Saturday will also give us a great chance to see examine our depth as we¹ll have back to back matches."
Princeton has faced all three opponents in relatively recent seasons. Though William & Mary leads the all-time series 5-2, Princeton won the only meeting to occur after 2002, which was a 4-3 win last season in Williamsburg. Princeton's only meeting with Bucknell came two seasons ago, a 7-0 win in Jadwin, and the Tigers split a home-and-home series with Furman in 2008 and 2009.
All three visiting teams are combining other matches with their trip to Princeton, with William & Mary heading to Penn Saturday, Bucknell heading to New York to take on Fordham and Hofstra later Saturday and Sunday, and Furman facing Penn Friday afternoon before coming to Princeton Saturday.
