The spring season will begin Saturday for the Princeton women's golf team when the Tigers open play at the Low Country Intercollegiate in South Carolina.
Princeton has played in the event twice before, in 2012 and 2013, finishing second two years ago.
This year's event will put Princeton against Appalachian State, Bethune-Cookman, The Citadel, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Indiana State, Navy, Presbyterian, Radford, Savannah College of Art and Design, St. Francis Brooklyn, Towson, USC Upstate and host Wofford. The Tigers will tee off Saturday beginning at 10:19 a.m. alongside Towson and Wofford for the event's first 18 holes with the final 18 coming Sunday in the two-round event.
The teams will play at the Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina, which also hosted the tournament the last two times Princeton competed.
All of Princeton's scorers in the team's four fall events were juniors or younger, and either junior Alex Wong or sophomore Hana Ku led Princeton in all four events. Freshman Tenley Shield, playing as an individual in the fall-closing Lehigh Invitational, finished the two-round event tied atop the leaderboard with Wong before Shield won the individual title in a playoff while Princeton won the team title.
