The lead changed three times and Princeton had it last against North Carolina Central, thanks to a Marissa Reynolds walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to deliver a 7-6 win.

Though NCCU pushed across a run in the top of the first, Princeton scored five straight to take a 5-1 lead into the sixth, but that lead evaporated when the Eagles had four hits and took advantage of a Princeton error to tie it at 5-5 through five and a half. NCCU tacked on one more in the top of the seventh to make it 6-5 going into Princeton's final at-bat.

A Kelsey Smith walk was between a pair of outs for Princeton to start the seventh before Reynolds stepped to the plate and knocked a two-run home run to left to end it.

Against Toledo, Princeton starter Meredith Brown held the Rockets to one hit over the first five innings before Toledo started a two-out rally that netted a run to cut Princeton's lead to 2-1. The Tigers had pushed one across in the first on back-to-back doubles by Emily Viggers and Alyssa Schmidt, and Haley Hineman made it 2-0 with a single that brought home a leadoff double by Kate Miller.

Princeton got the sixth-inning Toledo run back in the bottom half of that frame, when Schmidt made costly an error that allowed Hineman to reach. Though Princeton led 3-1 at that point, Toledo didn't make the top of the seventh easy.

Erica Nori made her second appearance of the season and got two outs but left with two runners on after a hit and a walk. Ashley LaGuardia then entered to get the last out, which she did to earn her first collegiate save.

Marissa Reynolds was 1 for 2 in Saturday's first game, but her home run wasn't her only contribution to the win. Reynolds scored another run, coming home in the third inning on a Kate Miller double after drawing a walk. She also drove home a run with a groundout in the fifth.

Alyssa Schmidt was the only Tiger with a multi-hit game against Toledo, getting two doubles with a run scored and a run driven in.

Marissa Reynolds' 2-run home run ended it and gave Princeton a 7-6 win over North Carolina Central, Reynolds' first home run since April 27, 2014 against Cornell.

With the tying runs on base in the top of the seventh against Toledo, Ashley LaGuardia entered the circle needing one out to seal the win, and that's what the rookie did, getting the Rockets' Nichole Toven to ground out to earn LaGuardia's first career save.

• Saturday was the first meeting between Princeton and N.C. Central and the first meeting between Princeton and Toledo.

• The NCCU game was Princeton's eighth one-run game of the season and the first one that went Princeton's way.

• Senior Alyssa Schmidt led the team at the plate on the trip, hitting .346 with a .577 slugging percentage on three doubles and a home run while getting a team-high nine hits.

• Freshman Ashley LaGuardia had a 1.38 ERA on the trip, appearing in seven of the team's 10 games while starting three.

• Junior Kate Miller picked up her first hits on the season Saturday with one in each game, both doubles. She also drove in two runs against NCCU.


Princeton's final game before the Ivy League season begins will come Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Monmouth.
