Princeton Sweeps Team, Individual Titles at Low Country Intercollegiate

Princeton's women's golf team closed its fall season with a team and individual title and opened its spring season the same way, sweeping both at the Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford at Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
At the end of the fall, it was freshman Tenley Shield winning the individual title at the Lehigh Invitational on a tiebreaker over teammate Alex Wong. This time, Shield helped Princeton win again, with her second-round score as Princeton's fifth golfer bettering that from Wofford's Meghan Higgins by four shots.
Jordan Lippetz turned in her second straight 73 to share the individual title with Sofia Molinaro of Savannah College of Art and Design after Molinaro turned in the tournament's low round with a 70 Sunday to catch Lippetz at +2 for the weekend. Lippetz and Molinaro cleared the rest of the field by four shots. The individual title is the first of the sophomore Lippetz's Princeton career.
After a Saturday round that saw Lippetz turn in three bogeys and six pars on the front nine and four birdies, two bogeys and three pars on the back nine, par was a much more frequent outcome in round two. A birdie and a bogey on Sunday's front nine were the only deviations from par, and Lippetz had two bogeys and a birdie on the back nine.
Princeton and Wofford each finished at +42, three shots in front of SCAD to win the second team title of first-year Princeton head coach Erika Desanty's tenure leading the Tigers.
Princeton will be away from competition until April 2-3 when the Tigers head to Trump National in Bedminster, N.J. to play in the Seton Hall Pirate Invitational.
