Women's Golf Finishes Runner-Up at Brown Invite

Yale and Princeton held firm as the top two teams at the Brown Invitational when the tournament wrapped Monday at the Metacomet Country Club in East Providence, Rhode Island.

Hana Ku finished as the top Tiger, bettering her first-round 74 with a 72 Monday to finish tied for fourth overall. All eight rounds from the four scoring Tigers were at 76 or better on the par-71 course, and all four of those scoring Tigers were non-seniors with three -- Ku, Lippetz and Tenley Shield -- as freshmen or sophomores. Ku, Lippetz and junior Alex Wong all turned in top-10 finishes, with Lippetz two shots behind Ku in sixth and Wong a shot behind Lippetz in a tie for seventh.

Yale's margin over Princeton was two shots after Sunday's first round and ended at six shots after 36 holes, while the Bulldogs' Elisabeth Bernabe finished tied with Boston University's Adela Cejnarova after two rounds with Cejnarova winning the individual title in a one-hole playoff. At +2, Bernabe and Cejnarova finished one shot in front of Quinnipiac's Nicole Scola and two shots in front of Princeton's Ku and Yale's Jennifer Peng.

The tournament, which included five Ivy programs, all of which finished in the event's top nine, is Princeton's last before the Ivy League Championship comes to Saucon Valley Country Club beginning April 24.
