Shanna Christian Named Ivy Pitcher of the Week

Two complete-game shutouts helped propel Princeton to a four-game sweep of Columbia and have earned junior Shanna Christian the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week.
Christian threw 14 shutout innings against the Lions, allowing two hits in Saturday's opener and six hits in Sunday's second game. She didn't walk a batter in either outing and struck out 15 over the two games.
The four-game sweep lifted Princeton into a tie for first place in the Ivy South with Penn, which will host Princeton for four games Saturday and Sunday.
The award is the second for Princeton this season, with Ashley LaGuardia sharing Ivy Pitcher of the Week honors on March 3. Christian was named Ivy Rookie of the Week and Ivy Co-Pitcher of the Week on March 5, 2013.
