Wong Contending for Medalist as Women's Golf Enters Final Round at Ivies
April 25, 2015 | Women's Golf
Junior Alex Wong is a shot off the pace heading into the final 18 holes at the Ivy League women's golf championship in Pennsylvania.
Wong turned in a 2-over 74 Saturday on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, a number no player hit in Friday's first round. She was one of three players to finish with a 74 in round two, and the only player who did better, Harvard's Courtney Hooton, finished with an even-par 72 to trim seven shots off her Friday score and lead Wong by a single stroke heading into Sunday.
Princeton slipped two spots to fourth on the team tote board despite cutting two shots off its team total from Friday. Columbia, which led Yale and Princeton by five shots after Friday's opening round, cut four shots off its Friday total and stands tied atop the leaderboard with Harvard, which was 22 shots better Saturday than it was Friday. The Lions and the Crimson are eight shots in front of Yale and 12 better than Princeton.
The Tigers will begin teeing off at 9:55 a.m. Sunday on the Grace Course's first hole. Princeton's results are below, and full results are available via Golfstat.com here.
