April 9 TigerCast: Thomas Colautti and Casey Ward
April 09, 2015 | General, Men's Tennis, Men's Rowing - Lightweight
With key Ivy League weekends upcoming, men's tennis sophomore Thomas Colautti and men's lightweight rowing captain Casey Ward are guests on the latest edition of TigerCast.
Colautti is the No. 2 player for a Princeton tennis team currently undefeated in the Ivy League and ranked 30th in the nation. The Tigers will host a pair of nationally ranked programs this weekend, including 35th-ranked Harvard on Sunday. Dartmouth, ranked 54th, will open the weekend on Saturday, as Princeton looks to put itself in position to win its first Ivy League championship since 1988. Colautti talks about the progress the program has made under head coach Billy Pate and the big opportunity this weekend.
Ward is the senior captain for the fourth-ranked men's lightweights, who will make the trip to Ithaca, N.Y., this weekend to take on top-ranked Cornell. The Tigers, who split the V8 race last weekend, can make a big early statement against a Big Red team that hasn't been defeated since 2013. Ward talks about the challenges of the sport and why racing on the road, as opposed to Lake Carnegie, could serve to help Princeton by the time Eastern Sprints comes around.
