Round of 32: South Carolina/Princeton winner vs. Virginia/VCU winner, Sunday, May 10, 12 p.m.
Princeton will make its sixth NCAA tournament appearance Saturday when it opens play against South Carolina at Virginia in the NCAA Round of 64. This is the second straight year the Tigers have been in the NCAA tournament and are coming off their first-ever postseason win, a 4-3 victory over Arizona State at Alabama.
"Our team is very excited to head down to Virginia," Princeton head coach Laura Granville said. "We played well during the Ivy League season which gives us confidence going into NCAAs. We know we will have to be ready to compete well and fight hard on Saturday. South Carolina is a very good team and Kevin (Epley) is a great coach who has had a lot of experience at the collegiate and pro level. He will have the team prepared well for our match. It should be a lot of fun."
South Carolina will be the 15th ranked opponent Princeton will have faced this season, and though the team is 6-8 in its first 14 matches against ranked foes, the Tigers have won six of the last eight such matches.
