Ratcliffe Named First-Team Academic All-America

AUSTIN, Texas (6/25/15) - Junior Julia Ratcliffe has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America® Division I track & field/cross country team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced this afternoon.
An economics major, Ratcliffe is the first Princeton women's track & field athletes to earn first-team Academic All-America honors. Megan Brandeland was a third-team selection in 2009.
The 2014 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Ratcliffe won the award the same year she was the NCAA champion in the hammer throw and was a Bowerman Trophy semifinalist.
The 2015 NCAA runner-up in the hammer throw, Ratcliffe was named Academic All-Ivy League last week.
Ratcliffe is the New Zealand, Ivy League and Princeton record holder in the hammer throw with a personal best of 70.28m (230-7). A three-time All-America, Ratcliffe is a three-time Ivy League Heptagonal champion in the hammer throw and a champion in the weight throw and a two-time runner-up in the weight throw. She is also a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic.
