Track & Field Alums Compete at USA and Jamaica Nationals

EUGENE, Ore. (6/29/15) - Six former Princeton Tigers competed at the USA Track & Field Championhips at Historic Hayward Field this weekend.
Two others competed at the Jamaica national championship in Kingston. Imani Oliver '14 was third in the women's triple jump with a mark of 13.05 on her final attempt. Her other attempts were 12.85, 12.94, 12.39, 12.90 and 12.87. Damon McLean '14 was fifth in the men's triple jump at 15.90. He cleared 15.98, 15.79, 15.79, 15.78, and 15.54 in other five attempts.
Donn Cabral '12 (Nike) finished second in the steeplechase with a PR of 8:13.37 to make the US team. He shaved nearly six seconds off his previous best and already has the qualifying A standard in the event. Cabral will compete the World Championship in Beijing in August.
It was a packed men's 1500 meters with two former Tigers as well as a former volunteer assistant coach. Peter Callahan '13 (unattached) and Joe Stilin '12 (ZAP Fitness) did not make it to the final. Callahan was fourth in heat 1 and 22nd overall at 3:49.05, while Stilin was eighth in heat 2 and 15th overall at 3:46.68. Former volunteer assistant coach Robby Andrews received his American flag and a place on the national team with a second-place finish. He clocked 3:38.75 in the finals after a 3:444.47 in the prelims.
Ashley Higginson '11 (Saucony) placed fifth in the women's steeplechase with a time of 9:35.55. She qualified for the final with a 9:46.79 in the semifinals.
Liz Costello '09 (New Balance) qualified for USAs in both the 5k and 10k but chose to run the 10k. She finished her 25 laps in 33:06.66 to finish seventh overall. Carrie Dimoff '06 (Bowerman TC) was 18th with a time of 34:42.97.
