Women's Golf Announces Fall Slate
July 22, 2015 | Women's Golf
Four fall tournaments, including the annual Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club, are on the docket for the Princeton women's golf team in the fall.
The Bucknell Invitational is new on Princeton's schedule and will be held Sept. 19-20 at the Lewisburg Golf Club in Bucknell's home of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. It'll be Princeton's first visit to Lewisburg since competing in ECAC Championship events there in the 1999-2000 and 2000-01 campaigns.
The annual Princeton Invitational is up next, Oct. 3-4 at Springdale Golf Club. It will be the 18th edition of the event, which Princeton last won in 2007. The team had two top-10 finishes individually a year ago, with rising junior Hana Ku tying for runner-up and rising senior Sydney Kersten tying for ninth.
A trip to the Yale Invitational on The Course at Yale will come Oct. 9-11, an event in which Princeton last competed in the fall of 2012. Only rising seniors Kersten and Alex Wong are back from Princeton's scoring four in that visit to New Haven.
The fall will close Oct. 18-19 with the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, a tournament that saw Princeton cap last fall on a strong high note. The Tigers put all six players - a group that included rising sophomore Tenley Shield playing as an individual - in the event's top 10, and Shield and Wong tied for medalist honors before Shield won the title in a playoff.
Overall, Princeton returns four of the five players that made up the team's contingent at the Ivy League Championship last season, a group that includes Wong, rising junior Jordan Lippetz, Ku and Shield.
