| Game Summary |
|
Though it took more than a half to solve Yale, Princeton opened Ivy League play with three crucial points after a 3-0 win Saturday afternoon at Roberts Stadium. The win broke an eight-game losing streak for the home team in the series and was Princeton's first win over the Bulldogs in Princeton in 12 years. Natalie Larkin at last broke the scoreless tie at the beginning of the 63rd minute, when Mimi Asom chipped her the ball after it landed in the six-yard box following a Tyler Lussi try off the crossbar, and Princeton had the 1-0 lead. The Tigers doubled it nine minutes later when Jesse McDonough sent Lussi a cross that the junior buried for a 2-0 lead, and Lussi took another Asom pass in the final minute for the three-goal lead. |
