Women's Tennis Set For Penn's Cissie Leary Invitational
September 30, 2015 | Women's Tennis
This weekend will bring the Princeton women's tennis team to Philadelphia for the Cissie Leary Invitational, Friday through Sunday.
It'll be the third straight year in which Princeton has competed in the event. Last year, Lindsay Graff '15 won the "A" singles flight, and graff and current sophomore Katrine Steffensen advanced to the doubles flight final.
Play will start at 9 a.m. each day with players from Columbia, Delaware, Drexel, Georgetown, Maryland, St. John's, Temple and Yale joining the Tigers and the host Quakers. The tournament will again feature an "A" and a "B" singles draw and one doubles draw.
The Leary tournament will be Princeton's second event of the season. Last weekend, the Tigers opened with the Princeton Invitational, hosting players from Temple, Syracuse and Penn in a hidden-dual format event. The Tigers will have a weekend off from full-team events following the Leary tournament, with a trip to the Georgia Invitational in Athens, Ga., Oct. 16-18.
