Fencers Set to Resume Campaign at Northwestern This Weekend

As they have annually since 2010, the Princeton fencing team will head to Northwestern for a busy weekend of dual matches against some of the country's top-ranked teams.

Each of Princeton's teams, the third-ranked women and the eighth-ranked men, will have four of their 11 respective matches against teams also ranked in the CollegeFencing360.com national top 10 and three more teams receiving votes in that poll. The women will take on No. 2 Notre Dame and No. 6 Ohio State Saturday and No. 5 Northwestern and No. 10 Temple Sunday. The men will face No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 7 Ohio State, No. 9 Duke and No. 10 Stanford all Saturday.

The competition will be Princeton's third of the season and first since the Sacred Heart Duals on Dec. 6, when each Tiger team swept four matches against Sacred Heart, NYU, Vassar and Penn State. The Northwestern event will also be the Tigers' last before the Ivy League Round-Robin held next weekend at Cornell.
