Day, Gamble Advance to ITA Regional Semis

Princeton's nationally-ranked doubles pair of Alex Day and Luke Gamble won twice Sunday to advance to Monday's semifinal at the ITA Northeast Regional at Penn.
Day and Gamble, ranked 21st in the nation by the ITA and seeded first in the regional draw, defeated Josh Pompan and Thomas Spratt of Penn 8-3 in the Round of 16 and then Coco Haener and Niko Vulinovich of Hofstra 8-5 in the quarterfinals. Shawn Hadavi and Jackie Tang from Columbia, seeded in the 3-4 range in the regional draw, are up next in the semis, which will start Monday at 9 a.m.
Princeton had two doubles pairs in the draw entering Sunday, and Tom Colautti and Payton Holden lost to the tournament's second seed, Colin Sinclair and David Volfson of Cornell, 8-2 in the Round of 16.
