PRINCETON, N.J. (10/4/16) - The Princeton men's soccer team travels up the New Jersey Turnpike to take on Seton Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 5 in a 7 p.m., contest.
The Tigers own a 14-11-5 edge in the all-time series since the teams first met with Princeton getting the better of Seton Hall as of late, winning the last eight games. Six of those games have been decided by one goal, including the last four. Thomas Sanner '16 tallied the game winner last year in the 56th minute, 3-2.
Princeton and Seton Hall have two common opponents, St. John's and Rider. Princeton lost a 3-1 game to St. John's before defeating Rider 3-1 in the following game. Seton Hall lost to both St. John's and Rider by matching 1-0 scores.
Princeton owns a 4-3-1 record after playing to a 1-1 draw with Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon in the Ivy League opener. Senior Greg Seifert and freshman Benjamin Martin both have scored three times and assisted on goal to have seven points apiece. Senior Vikram Pothuri adds four points on one goal and two assists, while seven others have three points. Senior Josh Haberman has a 1.20 goals against average and a .773 save percentage, stopping 34 of 44 shots.Â
The Hall is 3-6-1 overall and is coming off of a 2-0 shutout of Marquette last Saturday. The win snapped a four-game losing streak. Sophomore Andres Arcila leads the offense with 14 points on five goals and four assists in 10 games. Freshman Jonathan Jimenez backs up with seven points on two goals and three assists while sophomore Jordan Kinoshi has two goals. Redshirt senior Danny Bartok, sophomore Francisco Alderete, junior Gaspar Jean-Baptiste have one goal apiece. Senior keeper Julian Spindler has a 1.49 GAA and a .702 save percentage making 33 saves on 47 shots.
